Co. Laois Vocational Education Committee (VEC) is one of thirty-three statutory local education authorities operating under the terms of the Vocational Education Acts 1930 and its subsequent amendments, most recently the 2001 VEC Amendment Act.
Mission of Co. Laois VEC:
‘The Mission of Co. Laois VEC is to provide, promote and support excellent education and training services which facilitate young people and adults in realising their full potential.’
What we do:
The function of County Laois VEC is to plan, coordinate and review the provision of education and services in recognised schools and centres to meet the educational needs of the people of Laois. County Laois VEC currently employs 400 people including management, full-time teachers, part-time teachers, administrative and maintenance staff at our schools and centres throughout the county.
